Moisture Lesion Management

Moisture Lesions are the skin areas damaged by excessive and prolonged contact with moisture, such as sweat, incontinence of feces and urine, and wound exudate or spillages. Moisture damage, in effect, gives pressure damage a headstart, so adequate pressure relief must be provided. Moisture lesions are often mistaken for pressure ulcers.
